Designed and assembled by GCG’s in-house engineers using a custom 80/20 frame, the system combined leading robotics and control solutions from across our supplier portfolio.
The demo featured Motoman, FANUC, and Universal Robots robots, three of the industry’s most recognized robot brands, working in harmony to demonstrate precision, speed, and collaboration. An Apera AI-based 3D vision system identified and tracked basketballs in a changing environment, while a Siemens PLC and HMI managed the entire operation for seamless coordination. Banner components ensured safety and control functionality, and the innovative SICK W10 photoelectric sensor added cutting-edge detection to the setup. Together, these technologies turned automation into an experience, giving attendees a memorable look at how collaborative robotics and smart sensors can work side by side to make manufacturing more efficient, intelligent, and interactive.
Alongside the basketball challenge, our SICK sensor demonstration drew interest from visitors looking to enhance visibility, control, and safety in their facilities.
The GCG team had the opportunity to meet with hundreds of engineers, plant managers, and operations professionals from across the region. Conversations focused on helping customers tackle today’s automation challenges—from improving throughput and safety to navigating workforce shortages and scaling production efficiently.
