Introduced as part of the Siemens portfolio of Simatic Industrial PCs, the new Simatic ITP1000 industrial tablet PC has been designed to carry out all varieties of industrial tasks in the most user friendly, slick manner possible. The industrial tablet is part of a portfolio that includes scalable product lines of box, panel and rack PCs. This has been the first time though when Siemens has brought a tablet PC into the market and the ITP1000 is the currently the fastest tablet available.
Here’s a better overview of the tablet’s capabilities:
A rugged, portable powerhouse, the Simatic Tablet PC ITP1000 is a compressed form of Simatic’s Industrial PCs.
Make no mistake though, as the Tablet is as powerful as the full-sized PC, and provides extreme fluidity while carrying out routine industrial functions. The tablet features practical functionalities and a CPU benchmark that allows it to go head to head with several notebook PCs.
Portability
The Simatic ITP1000 has been designed and fabricated to provide the benefits of two devices in a singular form. This opens up an entirely new stream of mobile computing and allows new applications to be covered including service, manufacturing, measuring and testing. When it comes to monitoring and operating industrial assets, the first vital thing that comes to mind is a cable connection. Fortunately, the ITP1000 completely diminishes such connections, allowing all tasks to take place remotely, given that the plant is configured suitably. You can retrieve service information, monitor parameters, operate HMIs, all from a location-independent point.
Performance
The Simatic ITP1000 is a true powerhouse and sports excellent performance even in the most demanding situations. On the spot engineering adjustments that require high processing resources can be handled by the tablet without any unwanted delays. As a result, the work processes are more flexible and streamlined.
In terms of interfaces, the ITP1000 makes use of the latest technologies to assure maximum productivity. Wireless communication is supported by WLAN and Bluetooth, while a 1 Gbit LAN interface has been installed for cable connections. In addition, other interfaces such as USB, USB Type C, Card Slots, etc. make sure you have the entire spectrum of connectivity required to function in an industrial environment.
Flexibility
Next, the tablet PC offers a high degree of flexibility. In addition to being operable through the touch screen, the tablet comes with six configurable function keys. These keys can be programmed to execute frequently operated functions and applications, allowing you to react quickly to time sensitive situations. The flexibility of the tablet doesn’t end here though. In addition to providing key functions on the display, Siemens allows configuration of hardware components of the Simatic ITP1000, according to your own needs. For instance, you may change the RAM size, the SSD hard disk capacity as well as other extensions such as RFID reader, camera and barcode scanner.
Durability
The Simatic ITP1000 has been designed and manufactured on top of over 20 years of industrial PC development experience. Siemens has always strived to make their products as durable as possible. The components are selected only after they’ve gone through all quality assurance tests that check for the stress, temperature, electromagnetic interference, etc. capabilities. In order to ensure maximum possible peace of mind, Siemens offers more than nine years of continued support for the Tablet PC along with a customer warranty. This makes the ITP1000 a crystal-clear opportunity for investment, one that has high return and a low cost of ownership.
